Product Categories

• Standard stock or commercially available items - These products are not considered as 'build to print'.
• 'Build to Print' items - These products are manufactured to our drawings or specifications

Pricing

• Product presentation should always represent the lowest possible acquisition price. We expect all suppliers to consistently and voluntarily quote the lowest possible acquisition price available on all items. A supplier who does not consistently and voluntarily quote its lowest prices to our buyers will be permanently discontinued as a purchasing source for MESL
• All items should include a breakdown of all built-in costs. For 'build to print' categories a complete breakdown will be required and boiler plates for completion are available from our Procurement team.
• Cost reduction road mapping is expected
• Suitable packaging for freighting will be required to buyer’s destination and should be included in cost build up which must be environmentally friendly and must comply with all E.U. and UK packaging regulations
• Freight costs: Inco term DDP will apply for all standard part quotations. For 'build to print' items, Inco term FOB will apply.
• Payment terms are strictly 60 days EOM
• Our payment method is electronic fund transfer (BACS)
• It is a pre-requisite that our standard terms and conditions of purchase will apply. A copy of which are available from our Procurement team.

Gratuities

• MESL's policy expressly prohibits the acceptance by any MESL employee of any gratuity from a supplier with whom we are currently doing business or whom we are considering for future business.

Quality

• It is a condition that both product categories meet the minimum quality criterion and be guaranteed by our suppliers to maintain MESL's reputation and customer satisfaction. The below table identifies our minimum expectation for each category.
• MESL suppliers must fully demonstrate product compliance through initial qualification and production. Supplier will participate in MESL’s advanced quality planning to enable 'ship to stock'.
• All suppliers will be expected to participate in the 'Supplier Continuous Improvement Programme'
